Family of two-year-old with rare brain tumour say they have been made to BEG to save her life after being denied NHS funding for life-saving treatment
Two-year-old Freya Bevan, from Neath Port Talbot, Wales, was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour in May last year and has undergone multiple operations and chemotherapy sessions (she is pictured, left). Now, her parents John and Katherine Bevan (pictured, right, with their daughter) want to take her to the U.S. for proton beam therapy treatment they believe could save her life. They need to raise £250,000 to fund the treatment, but have been turned down for funding from the Welsh NHS. Mrs Bevan said: Mrs Bevan said: 'The Welsh NHS haven't given her a chance of life. It's absolutely disgusting.They have made us lose our dignity and beg for our daughter's life.'
