A 40-year truck driver, Muyideen Oladosu, has been arrested
and charged before Magistrate’s Court, Ejigbo for causing the death of Dorcas
Amoo who was eight months pregnant before the incident happened.
The incident happened six months after she wedded her
husband at Ijegun road, Ikotun, Lagos State, western Nigeria where Dorcas
resided with her husband, David Amoo.
P.M.News learned from her husband that the deceased, who was
returning from work boarded a tricycle to their house. But on the way the truck
driver lost control of the vehicle and crushed the tricycle which resulted in
her death.
Doctors confirmed her dead and the baby lifeless when she
was rushed to the hospital.
Oladosu is now facing a murder charge under the Criminal
Code Law of Lagos State. When he was arraigned on Tuesday, he pleaded not
guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.B. Folami granted him bail
in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The court also ordered the prosecutor to duplicate the case
file and send it to DPP for advice.
Oladosu was remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri while the
matter was adjourned till 25 March, 2015.
