A man has been left without genitals and with three missing toes after a witch doctor told him that losing his body parts would make him rich.
Chamangeni Zulu, from Malawi, has been hospitalised at Chipata General Hospital in Zambia, near the Malawi border, after he allowed the hyena to eat his manhood.
Mr Zulu told the Times of Zambia yesterday that he was promised by a witch doctor that by sacrificing his body parts he would become rich.

Statins are known for lowering cholesterol but they could also improve your love life, according to a new study.
American researchers have found the commonly used drugs may benefit men with erectile dysfunction.
They now hope their findings will encourage men with high cholesterol to take their medication.
Erectile dysfunction is common in older men, especially among those with heart problems, for which cholesterol-lowering statins are frequently prescribed.

China has urged the families of those aboard missing flight MH370 to accept that their loved ones are dead and called on them to stop directing their anger towards the Malaysian authorities handling the investigation.

Many Chinese have expressed scepticism over accounts by the Malaysian government, claiming it has not revealed everything it knows about the stricken jetl’s disappearance on 8 March.

Ms Chiwendu Nkwocha is lucky to still be alive after a Muslim cleric, Isa Salaudeen attempted to slit her throat in his apartment in Ibadan. Chinwendu was said to have found herself in the cleric’s apartment after her boyfriend took her there for spiritual cleansing.

She was tied down and her face covered thinking he was getting her ready for the cleansing, until she felt a sharp object piercing through her throat and she cried out for help. The ‘Alfa’ would have succeeded, but the knife he took wasn’t sharp enough. As he was about changing the knife, the woman made more noise and people broke into his apartment to find her tied down and bleeding. She was rushed to UCH where she is presently receiving treatment and the cleric was instantly arrested.

The Oyo state police command has said the suspect is already helping them with useful information.

Super Eagles Beats Nollywood Stars With 4-0 In A Novelty Match (photos)

Former Nigerian Super Eagles footballers on Friday thrashed Nollywood stars in a novelty match sponsored by Human Right Commission in Abuja.Despite the training sessions, the pot-bellied Nollywood celebrities lose big time.

The novelty match aimed at promoting human rights of Nigerians ended in a 4-0 win in favour of the experienced Eagles stars.

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday gave an order of perpetual injunction restraining the lawmakers who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, from effecting any leadership change in the House of Representatives.
Delivering judgment, Justice Adeniyi Ademola lambasted the decampee lawmakers. He said they no longer had any business, morally and legally, to stay in the House of Representatives.
He said they should honourably resign from their seats as members, having moved to another political party while their tenure had yet to expire.

A Nigerian man has proposed to his girlfriend on air while flying in an Arik Aircraft this morning. According to an eyewitness (Nkemjika), the guy slowly walked to where his fiancee was sitting, went on his knees and proposed to her. Other passengers in the flight couldn't help but all starred at them clapping and cheering them up. Our eye witness, Nkemjika was the only one with his phone on, and automatically became the camera man who had to send the proposal pictures to the couple themselves and every other interested person on the flight. Army Arrests 18 Suspects, Recovers Arms from Fulani Settlement in Kaduna.

Troops from the One Division of the Nigerian Army Kaduna Sunday arrested about 18 people and recovered several arms in Laduga village, a Fulani settlement in Kachia local government area in the southern part of Kaduna state.

The army was said to have stormed the village in the hours of Sunday following a tip off on alleged plans for reprisal attack over the killings of seven herds men in the southern part of Kaduna state shortly after the March 14 attacks on three villages in Kaura local government area where about 125 people were killed in the attacked believed to have been carried out by Fulani herds men.

Acting on security tip off, the troops were said to have condoned the village for a search leading to the successful arrest of 18 suspects with several arms recovered.

The spokesman of the One Division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Col. Usman Abdul who confirmed the incident in a telephone interview said the military carried out the action in good faith for public good.

Jonathan blames Northeast govs for Boko Haram insurgency.

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday turned the blamed for the raging insurgency in the Northeast on the governors in the zone.
He said they, more than anyone else, should take responsibility for the reign of terror imposed by members of the Islamist sect, Boko Haram on Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States.
Jonathan, who spoke at the Northeast zonal rally of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi, said it was a shame for the governors to shift the blame for the insecurity on the Federal Government.
“It is shameful for a governor who has stayed in power in his state for up to six years or more to come to me and talk about bad leadership when you have youth in your state, more than half of whom have not attended primary school and you are doing nothing about it,” he said.

Godwin Olusegun Kolawole Ajayi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and one of Nigeria’s most prominent lawyers have passed on. Ajayi passed on Friday, 28^th March, 2014 according to a family source.

He was the lawyer to Late MKO Abiola, and a lot of prominent Nigerians helping them win several law suits. He died after a prolonged sickness that lasted few years. He was 83.

Before I was born, the universe came into existence with a big bang about some 4.6 billion years ago, our solar system formed. Life arose and lots of animals evolved. Somewhere on the continent of Africa, modern man arose, and spread across the other continents. Civilization blossomed, along with the domestication of animals, tools, technology, and information; I was oblivious to all of these events.

The Spokesperson for the Department of State Security Service, Marilyn Ogar, has issued a statement on the attempted jailbreak at the headquarters of the Nigeria’s secret police.

At 0715 hours, the Service suspect handler went to the detention facility within the Headquarters to feed the suspects. One of the suspects attempted to disarm him by hitting him at the back of his head with his handcuff. His attempt to escape drew the attention of other guards at the facility who fired some shots to warn and deter others.

The gun shots attracted the attention of the military with whom we have an understanding of mutual assistance in the event of any threat. The Army immediately deployed a team to reinforce our perimeter guards to forestall any external collaborators.

It is cheap to criticise; even to criticise what you don’t understand. People don’t understand what they say about the church milking the poor. Can a poor man have money to pay tithe? A man who has no job, can he pay tithe? No, he won’t be able to pay. So how do you milk a man who has no milk?

One of MKO Abiola’s daughters, Waliyah Abiola has delved into music. Waliyah said she hates to tell people she is an Abiola, so people won’t think she's trying to use her father's name to step up her career. She said she has been doing her music without the name, and she is comfortable with it.

There have been heavy gunfire exchanges around the vicinity of Nigeria’s presidential palace and the headquarters of the Department of State Services in the Asokoro District of Abuja in the past one hour, security sources and residents of the area said/.

According to NaijaSharpNews sources, the expansive headquarters of the State Security Service, popularly known as Yellow House, is almost adjacent one of the remote gates of the presidential villa.
