Man who Padlocked Son's Mouth & Beat him to Death Gets Remanded in Prison.

Y'all remember that very sad, disturbing story, right? Here's an update - the young boy's 30-year-old father Chris Elvis has been ordered to be remanded in prison by an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s Court, Lagos State,  pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution.

A security guard, Chris had locked his four-year-old son, Godrich Elvis, in a room, padlocked his mouth and beat him to death using a hot pressing iron at their home on Adetola Adelaja Street, Meiran, Lagos State. Cos according to him, the little boy was evil and responsible for his poverty.

Punch now reports that after Chris was arrested for the murder, he suddenly began feigning insanity. He
started acting strange in order to convince the police that he was mentally ill.

And on Wednesday, after the murder charge was read to him,Chris took the strangeness to another level - after he was shown the charge sheet, he took the paper and put it in his mouth. The magistrate, however, cautioned him to behave well as he was in a court.

The murder charge read:
“That you, Chris Elvis, on February 10, 2014, about 5pm at 7, Adetola Adelaja street, Meiran Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill one Godrich Elvis, aged 4 years by using hot pressing iron to burn him all over his body and putting him inside a plastic drum and locked the drum with padlock and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.”
His plea was not taken. The matter was adjourned till April 2, 2014.
