Premature Rohan Rhodes (pictured left and main) needed heart
surgery and so was transferred to St Michael's Hospital - the same trust
as the scandal-hit Bristol Children's Hospital. As he was born 14 weeks
early, the little boy relied on a ventilator to assist his breathing.
Rohan's parents (right) allege that, while he was waiting for surgery, a
nurse turned off the machine. Soon afterwards, he developed necrotising
enterocolitis - or NEC, which eventually led to his death. The child's
father made him a boat coffin (inset) from wood used to create his first
cot. posted by Emanto Ngaloru Feb 23, 2014.
