Michelle embraces George W Bush as President Obama opens up the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History with a rousing call for unity

Michelle grasped Bush's hand as they both smiled before Obama took the stage to deliver the final speech to officially open the $540million museum at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on Saturday. Obama said the 85,000 sq ft museum told the true story of America,a 'richer and fuller story of who we are'. Obama and Bush sat side-by-side together as the guests of honor at the ceremony. Oprah Winfrey and Will Smith also took the stage, where they participated in a poetry-off and quoted the likes of Maya Angelou and Langston Hughes to celebrate African American literature. Also present in the crowd was VP Joe Biden, Colin Powell, Bill Clinton, Angela Bassett and Robert DeNiro.
