Muhammad Ali, the greatest boxer of all time, who brought poetry to the ring and the world with his words and deeds, has died at the age of 74. The legendary fighter, , who had battled Parkinson's disease for 32 years, died with his family at his side on Friday evening, a day after he was rushed to hospital outside Phoenix, Arizona, with difficulty breathing. His legion of fans, celebrities and fellow
boxers lined up to memorialize their icon but the most heartwarming tributes were paid by his family, including his daughter Hana (pictured as a baby, top right with her father) who remembered him as a 'Humble Mountain' with a 'beautiful soul'. Ali (pictured left in 2011, centre fighting Sonny Liston in 1965, and taking on Joe Frazier in 1975, bottom right), who was also a key figure in
America's civil rights movement, had been on life support at a hospital outside Phoenix, Arizona, after he was found 'barely breathing' at his home on Thursday. He was taken to hospital with an 'unshakeable cough', a separate source said, with his fatal respiratory problems likely to have been complicated by his Parkinson's disease.
