Why Abia state govt boycotted Chukwumerije's burial - Ama Abraham

The Abia State Government has been criticized for not attending the burial ceremony of Senator Uche Chukwumerije held on Friday, May 22 at his Isuochi country home in UmunneochiLocal Government.Reacting to the state’s absence at the burial, GovernorTheodore Orji’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Chief Ama Abraham, said the late senator’s sons failed to carry the state along in the burial arrangements.
“The family refused to carry the state along, which is a serious indictment. Chukwumerije was at the Senate twice and the state government gave him all the support he needed,” he said.

The source said, “He partly bankrolled the expenses of APGA during the last elections in the state and if you check in today’s (Friday) edition of a national newspapers, APGA placed an advert, praising him as one of its supporters”
Top government officials were among dignitaries who attended the burial.
They include, Senate President, David Mark, Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State, Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, former Vice President Alex Ekwueme and his wife.
