Bergkamp, then Henry... now Bendtner! Arsenal outcast shows class on scoring comeback with a touch to rival legends

                                                     Nicklas Bendtner has had his critics over the years, but few could argue how he responded when thrown back into the firing line against Hull City.

The Danish striker started his first Premier League game since 5 March 2011 on Wednesday evening - that's 1005 days - and scored after just 90 seconds.

But despite having several 'Bendtner-esque' moments in the 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium, the 25-year-old produced a touch that looked instantly comparable to a couple of Gunners greats.                                                                                                 Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry are widely regarded as two of the finest players to have ever played in North London, and were admired for their fine touch and grace, amongst plenty of other breathtaking attributes.

The Dutchman's leap and touch to bring the ball down at Newcastle in 2003 (just a year after THAT goal at St James' Park) has earnt him a forthcoming statue outside the Emirates, something a certain Frenchman knows a thing or two about.

Henry, the club's record goalscorer with 228 in all competitions, produced a moment of magic to control against Blackburn in the FA Cup back in 2007.

While no football fan in their right mind would compare Bendtner to the two maestro's in terms of pure and outright ability, his confidence in even the darkest situations can only be admired.

In his last start for the club - a disappointing Capital One Cup defeat at home to Chelsea - he somewhat stumbled about, struggling to get involved in the game and was subsequently jeered off by supporters.
