The Ogun State Ministry of Health has closed down twelve privately owned
hospitals in the state to check quackery. Seven of the hospitals were
shut in Ijebu-Igbo while five were closed down in Ijebu-Ode.
Also, an illegal mortuary located at Ago-Iwoye in Ijebu-Igbo, was also
closed by the monitoring team from the state’s Department of Hospital
Services.
The team was led by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Babatunde
Ipaye and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Nafiu
Aigoro.
The commissioner further disclosed that the exercise would be carried out across the 20 local government areas in the state.
