Rooney to the rescue as Manchester United captain flicks home stunning winner to end Van Gaal's long wait for a league victory

MANCHESTER UNITED 2-1 SWANSEA - ROB DRAPER AT OLD TRAFFORD: For just one moment it felt like the good old days. Anthony Martial tore down the right wing and his opponent Federico Fernandez was simply left standing. As the young Frenchman pulled back the cross, there was an impudent flick from Wayne Rooney in front of the Stretford End and suddenly United were back in the lead on 77 minutes. It was all so brazen, exciting and arrogant. Old Trafford roared and the old songs were echoing around the ground.
