This is a former soldier moments he was beaten to a bloody pulp on the street.
Charlie
Williams, 57, former chairman of Mold Ex-Serviceman's Club, is barely
recognisable with his heavily bruised face covered in blood.
He was attacked after an evening out at a Wetherspoon's pub in Wrexham, North Wales, at around 11pm on Friday July 11.
After
the attack Charlie said he was left blind in his right eye for two
days, lost his front teeth and suffered a suspected broken arm.
He said he was knocked out cold in the attack and has been to the hospital every day since it happened.
Charlie,
a former Royal Welsh Fusilier, said: 'I've had my teeth out, I was
blind, I couldn't see for two days and they think I have a suspected
broken arm.'
Mr Williams, who lives with wife Carolyn, in Mold, North Wales, said he served in the British Army between 1973 and 1982.
He
said: 'You don’t expect this kind of thing to happen, I’ve served my
country and you don’t expect for something like this to happen.
'I served in Cyprus, in Jamaica, all over the place and I did a stint in Northern Ireland in Belfast.'
North Wales Police said they were appealing for witnesses after the attack.
More than 220 people have taken to a Facebook page to express their anger at those responsible.
A North Wales Police spokesman said: 'We were called to an incident on Wrexham Street at around 11pm.
'A man in his 50s had been assaulted and he received medical attention.'
A
statement released by the Ex-Servicemen's Club on its Facebook page
praised Mr Williams for the time he had devoted to the organisation.
The
club described him as 'a person who would help anyone out if they were
stuck and who has given a lot of his free time to the club in the past'.
'The coward who did this should be driven out of Mold. We don't need people who do this in Mold.'

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said: 'We responded with a rapid response vehicle and an emergency ambulance.
'A male in his 50s was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.'
