So Much Ado About Alleged N100m Received From Presidency By Parents Of Chibok Girls

There has been so much to talk about after some of the chibok missing girls' parents visited president Jonathan in Aso Rock few days ago.
Some of the parents alleged that the sum of N100m was given to community leaders to distribute among them soon as they ended their meeting in Aso Rock, but they gave them peanuts instead. Some even boldly told BBC Hausa how much they received and how some of them were really under paid as much as receiving N7,000, while some received, N200,000 and others slightly above.

Anyway, one of the community leaders, Pobu Bitrus, who is also a member of the House of Representatives and was at the meeting with the President says the chibok girls parents alleged allegations are false and that presidency only gave them money in envelopes after the meeting.
Speaking with BBC, Mr. Bitrus says, “After we met with the president, the parents were given monies in envelopes and that’s all. All other things they are saying about N100million, I don’t know about that,” he said.

In like manner, Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, also denied the president gave them such an amount and said the government only took care of the parents’ accommodation and feeding. Their story is absolutely false, he said.
