The University of Liverpool Women's Rugby League team are the latest group of women to strip n*de for a charity calendar to raise money for 6-year old Jack Johnson who is down with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

The team, who have also been struggling to find enough cash to pay for equipment and travel, will also benefit from some of the money, while the rest will go to Jack.

DMD, which currently affects around one in 3,600 boys in the UK, only appears in males and causes progressive muscle wasting. Now the girls hope their naked calendar will raise awareness of the disease, as well as raising funds to support the search for a cure. More photos after the cut.

Photos: Couple Charged With First-Degree Murder After Neglecting Hungry Baby In Car Seat To Die

A couple, Ruby Stephens, 23, and Roy Stephens, 48, of Indiana have been charged with first-degree murder for neglecting their 22-day-old baby to die of hunger while strapped in her car seat at the back of their car while they went in to eat at a Florida restaurant.

The mother who came out hours later to check the baby, found out she was completely unresponsive and cold to the touch and called 911.

The police later arrested the couple and the mother confessed she had strictly breastfed the baby every two-three hours on their long trip to Florida. 

Boy Kills 10-Year Old Friend For Abusing Him

Samson Egunje, 12, a primary 6 pupil has killed his 10-year old friend for allegedly abusing him.

Samuel Igbekele, 10, met his untimely death on Saturday when he was about eating that night before a neighbour sent him on an errand.

Samson who claimed Samuel insulted him in the morning, had been looking for him all day before he found him that night and stabbed him with a bottle on the neck. He was rushed to the hospital and was confirmed dead on arrival.

The police have already arrested 5 people and investigations are almost concluded for the matter to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba. So sad.

David Williams, 47 (pictured left), was praised for carrying out a 'textbook' landing of the Boeing 747 (bottom and top right) after it developed a technical fault shortly after take-off. The aircraft was bound for Las Vegas but was forced to return to London where Mr Williams, who lives near Horsham, Sussex, carried out an impressive emergency touch-down on broken landing gear. In the video which emerged afterwards,

the calm pilot was heard ordering passengers to brace for landing. The terrified passengers then spontaneously cheered and applauded in praise of the pilot after he landed the jumbo jet without a hitch. Afterwards, passengers took to Twitter to thank the pilot, calling him 'incredibly skillful. Today, the modest father-of-three said: 'I was just doing my job and any one of our pilots would have taken the same actions.'

Northern Farmers Plan To Sell Yams To Raise N5b For Buhari-Osinbajo Presidential Campaign

A group of yam farmers across some northern states in the country have pledged to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Gen. Actress Luise Rainer, who became the first winner of consecutive Oscars in the 1930s, has died at the age of 104. The German-born star was named best actress in 1936 and 1937 - a feat achieved by only five actors in Academy Awards history to date.

Her achievement made her a force in the golden age of Hollywood cinema, but was also a curse, making her last major film in 1943.

According to her only daughter, she died from pneumonia at her London home.

The Police Affairs Minister, Jelili Adesiyan, while speaking during a book launch, “Watch the Watcher” on Monday in Lagos has accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muhammadu Buhari, of plotting to install an interim government.

Mr. Adesiyan said Obasanjo had teamed up with Buhari, Bola Tinubu, and Atiku Abubakar to snatch power from the president, but it would backfire.

21-Year Old Boy Arrested For Stabbing Father To Death In Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 22-year-old Oluwaropo Tifase, for allegedly killing his father, Moses Tifase, in the Mile 2 area of the state. It was learnt that Oluwaropo, who is the fifth child and only son of the family, had had clashes with his parents in the past over financial issues.

According to the police, Oluwaropo, a suspected cultist, was rusticated from a university in Ondo State, a few years ago for some cult-related offences.

It was gathered that 75-year-old Moses, a retired mechanical engineer, was stabbed to death in the neck with a pair of scissors.

Stating that the Emir is a father to all political parties in the State and will not associate with any political party, but all.

DPO Quietly Died In Office On Christmas Day In Lagos

The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ijede Police Station, Ikorodu, Nwaoha Uzoma has quietly died in his office on Christmas day. Uzoma who spent the night at work has been ill, but recovered few days ago according to junior officers before he was found dead in his office.

No one knew the DPO had died, but when they noticed he didn’t come out of his office all day and wouldn’t pick his calls or reply text messages, they had to forcefully open the door, before they found his lifeless body on the floor.

Uzoma was formerly heading the Anthony Police Division, before he was posted to Ijede, early this month. His corpse has since been deposited at a private mortuary.

TMZ reports that sources say Lamar, hard to miss at 6ft 9in, has gone missing as she tries to complete the divorce, which she filed citing irreconcilable differences.
