The entertainment and beauty world will still have the image of Queen
Tobi Phillips fresh in their memory after the ravishingly beautiful
girl, a graduate of Marine sciences from the University of Lagos, was
crowned on November 3, 2012, the 6th World Miss University Nigeria title
in a pageant keenly contested by 30 Nigerian Universities participants.
Tobi went on to become the 6th Nigerian Student Peace
Ambassador to United Nations and Goodwill Ambassador to the
International Vaccine Institute (IVI). As if that wasn't enough, this
same young lady made Nigeria and the whole of Africa proud by clinching
the World Miss University Africa 2012 title at the Sheraton Grande
Walkerhill Hotel, Seoul Korea on the 11th December 2012 and she
instantly became the first African to have ever attained such a
progressive position at the international level in Korea.
After
winning other notable pageants and modeled for several top brands within
and outside the country, the irresistible Ondo state born Tobi went on a
short hiatus for personal reasons, however she is back and below is
what she recently told us.
"I had to take a short break and work
more on myself. I know many people would say I'm perfect as a model and
there is no need for me to go back to the drawing table, but those that
really know me will tell you that being good or better is never enough
for me. I aim to be the best. I don't rest on yesterday's achievement, I
pursue excellence always," she says.
