The affordable suit superstore SuitSupply has come under fire for its latest sexually-charged ad campaign, which has been accused of 'flagrantly objectifying women' in an attempt to sell products.
The
uncensored images show impeccably dressed men wearing the Dutch
company's latest threads, while surrounded by scantily clad, or topless,
women.
When employees from SuitSupply’s flagship New York
store recently conducted an 'Ask Me Anything' online chat for a men’s
fashion fashion forum, the response they got to the campaign was far
from positive.
'Is there a plan to stray from the
current oversexed marketing scheme? I've got to be completely honest and
say that as good as your products may be I refuse to purchase from a
company that decides to use [these] ad campaigns,' was another
complaint.
Although
visitors to SuitSupply’s website can choose to view censored or
uncensored versions of the ad campaign's images, many customers believe
they are offensive to a 'vast majority of the population.'
