Police arrest 3 UN job recruitment syndicate                Nothing wey no go happen for this we country oooh....The Nigeria Police Force Head Quarters in Abuja yesterday paraded three suspects who claimed to be operators of a United Nations recruitment syndicate known as Universal Response and Rescue Support Foundation. The suspects, Michael Abraham, Lemmy Odogwu and Innocent Prosper, also run a fake training camp at Iba, Lagos, with branches in Ekiti, Cross River, Imo states and Abuja.
While Michael Adedayo Abraham, 45, claimed to be the ‘Rescue-General’ of the fake UN syndicate group, Lemmy Odogwu, 35, posed as the FCT police commandant.

The police said the suspects would be prosecuted on charges of impersonation, cheating and forgery.
Parading the suspects before newsmen at the Force Head Quarters in Abuja, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Frank Mba, said the three -man gang had swindled over N7million from one hundred Nigerian youths who are their targets.
According to Mba, the suspects upon their arrest were in possession a Toyota Sequoia Jeep with registration number, BGT 151 AAA, 181 copies of unfilled recruitment forms with UN logo, a booklet containing lists of recruitment and phone numbers of intending members.
The police spokesman who gave an insight into how the suspects were arrested, said, “Acting on the complaint from the Chief Security Officer of United Nations in Nigeria, the IG directed the INTERPOL unit of the Force to commence an investigation into the activities of the Universal Response and Rescue Support Foundation and three suspects were arrested.”
Prosper said he was motivated to join the organisation when he saw the UN logo on its document, noting that he purchased the registration form in Abuja and went to Lagos for combat training where he was issued a paramilitary uniform with a blue beret with the UN logo.
However, Micheal Adebayo Abraham, the founder and chief executive officer of the fake organisation, said it was not intended for criminal activities or embarrass the UN, but that he only wanted to support the lofty goals of the international agency and makes the society a better place.
He explained, “The UN gave me books and asked me to register the organisation with the government but the lawyer that I asked to register the foundation delayed. Putting the UN logo on our website and documents was not for criminal intent. I am sorry for embarrassing the UN, it was not meant to be so.”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   posted by Emanto Ngaloru  Jan 4, 2014.
