Taye Diggs And Idina Menzel Separate After a Decade Of Marriage.

                                         They had one of the most solid marriages in the world of musical theatre.

But it has emerged Rent stars Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel have separated after a decade of marriage.

The 42-year-olds tied the knot in 2003 and had a son Walker back in 2009.

A representative told People: 'Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs have jointly decided to separate at this time.

'Their primary focus and concern is for their son. We ask that you respect their privacy during this time.'

The couple met as costars in the original production of the Broadway musical Rent in the 1996, and the pair went on to also star in the 2005 film.

                              Earlier this year Tony-winner Idina revealed the couple's idyllic seeming marriage was not always easy.

She said: 'We work at it. I'm not going to glamorise it or glorify it – we go through tough times like everybody else

'But we love each other very much. We try not to be away from each other for more than two weeks at a time, and we try to find new ways to communicate.'
