Rivers State Police Command has
again announced that the recent onslaught by the Command to smoke out criminals
from the state yielded safe rescue of two more kidnapped victims, Bayo David
and Iyabi Segun, on Tuesday December 15, and the killing of three of the
suspected kidnappers.
A statement in Port Harcourt by
Ahmad Muhammad, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, PPRO, said
“Their rescue came on the heels of the timely and actionable information
received from a patriotic citizen who saw when the duo while in transit near
Elebrada junction along East-West road were stopped by armed men and forcefully
dragged into the nearby bush, abandoning the victim’s Toyota Highlander SUV by
the road side.
“Quick response to the information
by policemen and subsequent combing of the forest led to gun duel with the
suspected kidnappers. The confrontation resulted in the safe rescue of the
victims as three of the unidentified suspected kidnappers were gunned down
while their other co-traveller escaped. The victims, according to them, were on
their way to Lagos.”
The victim’s vehicle, two locally
