According to CNN
, Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Salih al-Mutlaq and a lawmaker , Talal
al-Zobaie, survived an assassination attempt in Baghdad on Friday. The
convoy carrying the officials was said to be ambushed by a group of
gunmen with light weapons.One of the prime minister's bodyguards died in
the ambush , and five others were injured.
