Irina Shayk attacks Cristiano Ronaldo in new magazine interview


Top model Irina Shayk, 29, who dumped footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, 30, in December 2014 after 5 years of dating over cheating allegations, indirectly slammed him in an explosive interview with Spanish magazine, Hola.
When the Russian beauty was asked if she preferred to have a partner or be alone, she said;
"Of course I prefer to be with someone, but with the right someone. It’s very simple. You have to be faithful to your other half and not have secrets. That’s my rule.”

Photos of Nigeria's first lady wearing an expensive watch led some Nigerians to ask whether they undermine President Buhari's "man of the people" image.
In March, Muhammadu Buhari was elected as Nigeria's new president after a campaign which took a strong anti-corruption stance. Buhari underlined his humble credentials by raising money from ordinary voters. He even had to stretch his finances to pay the fee to register as a candidate.

Two Enugu council chairmen in trouble as Governor pays unscheduled visit


The laxity among local government workers across the country played out on Wednesday as the Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi met deserted council areas during an unscheduled inspection visit.Chairmen of Awgu and Aninri local government areas, Mr. Mathanus Nnanna Nze and Mr. Nwabueze Nwobodo, as well as most of the workers were not on duty when the Governor visited.
DAILY POST gathered that the chairmen are presently in serious moves to save themselves from the Governor’s hammer.
Governor Ugwuanyi had during the visit, sent warning
signals to government officials, local government council chairmen and their staff on the need to be punctual at duty posts and to discharge their duties creditably.

We are sending names of corrupt politicians to Buhari – Ohanaeze Ndigbo


The Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, says it has compiled the names of all corrupt politicians and looters of public treasury in the South East Zone for onward transmission to President Muhammadu Buhari.The group, which is the Youth wing of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, made this known in a statement on Monday.
It said the list contains names of past and present looters of public funds.
The statement signed by its national president, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro disclosed that the list “will be made public very soon so that there will be no hiding place for such characters who brought woes to Ndigbo.

Man Stabs Girl To Death In Calabar Over Handset (photo)

Last Friday in Calabar, Cross River state, a young man, now on the run, stabbed a girl in her early twenties simply identified as Queen to death over a mobile phone at Nelson Mandela street by Target road, Calabar South LGA.CrossRiverWatch reliably gathered that a girl friend to the late Queen had collected Queen’s phone to help recharge the phone’s battery in her boyfriend’s place. Her boyfriend is however believed to have seen and like the phone, deciding to keep the phone. Sources say all entreaties to convince the alleged assailant now at large by his girl friend that the phone belongs to her girl friend proved abortive, causing the girl to call the late Queen to come over to her boyfriend’s house to demand for her phone. On arrival, the late Queen demanded for her phone, a request that was turned down by the young man.

How Suicide Bomber Shouted “Sai Buhari” Before Killing


At least five people lost their lives when a suicide bomber attacked an abattoir in Maiduguri on Tuesday, the Borno state police command revealed.
In a report published by Premium Times, the commissioner of police in the state, Aderemi Opadokun disclosed the last words of the suicide bomber before the attack at about 11.30am today.

Opadokun said, “A suicide bomber, who was shouting “Sai Buhari”, and dancing in the abattoir, detonated Improvised Explosive Device strapped on his body when people had gathered around him.

“Five people, including himself, died, while eight others sustained injuries”, he said.

Change Movement Nigeria has faulted the failure by President Muhammadu Buhari to publicly declare his assets contrary to his pre-election promise to do so publicly.Dated May 31, 2015, the open letter to Buhari was entitled ‘Public Assets Declaration: A Promise Made But Yet To Be Fulfilled’ and signed by the group’s National Coordinator, Peter Damilola Adegoke.
In it Change Movement wrote: “Congratulations on your assumption of office as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We appreciate your gesture with that of your Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, for declaring your assets to the Code of Conduct Bureau; but we are deeply concerned that the action did not follow the promise you made to Nigerians during your campaign exercise; you promised to publicly declare your assets within 100 days in office as President.

FIFA President Sepp Blatter bows to pressure, throws in the towel 4 days after re-election


FIFA President Sepp Blatter announced his resignation this evening as the corruption scandal in football’s top governing body gathered pace.Just four days after being re-elected as president for another four-year term, the 79-year-old Swiss said he would step down and a new president would be elected.
“I will call an extraordinary congress and a new president will be elected,” Blatter said at a press conference in Zurich.
First elected in 1998, Blatter has been beset by recent corruption claims that saw seven senior FIFA officials arrested two days before his re-election.

South Africa apologizes over xenophobic attacks



South African Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, on Monday in Nairobi tendered apology to Kenyans, condemning the recent brutal xenophobic attacks that claimed some lives.Ramaphosa, who was in Kenya to meet Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta over South Sudan crisis, apologised for the loss of lives.He addressed thousands of Kenyans during celebrations to mark 52 years of internal self-rule in Nairobi.
Deputy President said his country want to demonstrate unity as Africans for the continent to prosper.
“I apologise to Kenyans and the rest of Africa for the unfortunate events that recently took place in South Africa.

Naval officer allegedly beats up Buhari trekker over traffic argument in Abuja

An unidentified naval officer has been accused of beating up Suleiman Hashimu, the man who trekked from Lagos to Abuja in honor of Pres. Buhari.
