The Nigeria military claimed on Tuesday to have seized 288 rifles and 35 rockets from terrorists in Cameroon at the weekend.
A statement signed by the Director of Defence Information at Defence
Headquarters, Major General Chris Olukolade, attributed the seizure to
the collaboration in fighting terrorism in the sub-region, as Cameroon
security forces made the huge seizure of arms that were apparently meant
for use by terrorists operating in Nigeria.
In addition to the rifles and Rocket Propelled Guns, he said that
locally made IEDs were also recovered following a fierce encounter at
Abugasse in Cameroon, a location close to the Chadian border.
