Britain stands with Paris: Vigils held across the country as communities show solidarity with France

Britain’s communities show solidarity with France in wake of Paris terror attacks
Gathering in cities across Britain today, including in central London and Glasgow, hundreds of people painted their faces red, white and blue and held 'Pray for Paris' signs as they showed support for France. The show of solidarity came as the world comes to terms with the barbaric terror attacks which saw Kalashnikov-wielding fanatics and suicide bombers storm four restaurants, a packed concert hall and the State de France sports stadium in the French capital. Organised by the Christian-Muslim Forum and the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), around 150 people gathered outside The National Portrait Gallery in Trafalgar Square in central London this afternoon. The fountains in Trafalgar Square will be lit red, white and blue tonight in honour of the Paris victims, as well as Tower Bridge in London (left) and the London Eye (right).
