Champions League - Porto stun Bayern in first leg

Champions League - Porto stun Bayern in first leg
Porto's Ricardo Quaresma (L) celebrates after scoring a penalty against Bayern Munich.

A Ricardo Quaresma brace and a further strike from the returning Jackson Martinez gave Porto a 3-1 win over a depleted Bayern Munich.
Two defensive horrors from Xabi Alonso and Dante gifted Porto an early two-goal advantage and although Bayern pulled one back through Thiago, a further goal from the returning Jackson Martinez puts Porto in the driving seat for next Tuesday's tie.

Porto found themselves two up within the opening ten minutes after a blistering start caught Bayern cold.

Martinez pounced on a mistake from Xabi and nicked the ball past Manuel Neuer, only for the keeper to bring him down. The resultant penalty was converted by Quaresma but the keeper was perhaps fortunate to stay on the pitch as the last line of defence.

Things quickly went from bad to worse for Pep Guardiola’s side as another defensive lapse cost them again. This time Dante was the culprit, allowing Quaresma to steal the ball and calmly slot home.
A first Champions League goal from Thiago gave the visitors, missing Arjen Robben, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Frank Ribery, hope. But a mistimed header from Jerome Boateng allowed Martinez to complete the job and take a healthy advantage to Munich.
