According to TelegraphUK, sources close to Boko Haram told them Nigeria's president was sent a new video of the schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram in which they begged him to spare their lives through a prisoner swap.

Chibok: Four Girls Listed As Abducted Are Back With Parents

 It was  learned that the Borno State Commissioner for Education, Musa Inuwa Kubo, informed the presidential committee on the abduction of schoolgirls in Chibok that four of the girls previously listed as missing had returned to their parents.
Mr. Kubo gave the revelation in a presentation last Friday to a committee set up by President Goodluck Jonathan to gather facts on the missing schoolgirls abducted April 15 by members of the extremist Islamist group, Boko Haram. The four girls were apparently part of a group of students who had escaped as their abductors transported them to an unknown location. However, they were still listed as missing as their parents had failed to report their escape and return.

 The controversial arrest and detention, running nearly four years, of Tamunotonye Kunais has come to an end, say leaders of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, known by the acronym ‘MEND,’ in a public statement.
Their statement, obtained by SaharaReporters, details his controversial arrest in December of 2010. In a rare gesture of appreciation, MEND said the  Nigerian Government acted in good faith. The statement thanked Nigerian officials over his  unconditional release.

An 11-year-old boy at New Takoradi Lower Town has had his face and parts of the body burnt with an electric iron allegedly by his own biological mother, for purportedly stealing GH¢5.00 belonging to the little boy’s friend.

Daily Guide leant that the boy is currently receiving treatment at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi, Western Region, for the multiple burns he sustained.

Poet, author and civil rights activist, Maya Angelou who wrote "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings", is dead. She was found dead this morning in her apartment by a caretaker.

Maya had been struggling with health issues in recent weeks and had to cancel her appearance at the 2014 MLB Beacon Awards Luncheon in Houston, which will hold on the 30^th of May, 2014, where she was billed to be honoured with the ''Beacon Life Award''. May her soul rest in peace.

Formula One driver Nico Rosberg and two of Germany's World Cup squad have been involved in a car accident during a promotional shoot at their World Cup training base on Tuesday which left two people in hospital.
Rosberg and DTM driver Pascal Wehrlein were carrying Germany team-mates Julian Drakler and Benedikt Hoewedes in separate vehicles when Wehrlein's car collided with two people on a road in northern Italy's South Tyrol region. The road had been closed to the public.
'I am shocked by the accident,' said Rosberg, who leads the Formula One World Championship after winning Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix.
