Clinton Cancels West Coast Trip Due To Pneumonia After Collapsing At 9/11 Memorial

Hillary Clinton has called off plans to visit the West Coast on Monday and Tuesday following her 'medical episode' at the 9/11 memorial ceremony.

Her doctor revealed that the 68-year-old has pneumonia - hours after a video showed her collapsing into the arms of her Secret Service agents after being rushed from the memorial service at the World Trade Center.

Dr Lisa R Bardack said Sunday evening that Clinton had become overheated and dehydrated at the event in lower Manhattan. Bardack said Clinton is now 'recovering nicely' at her home in Chappaqua, New York.

The Democratic nominee was scheduled to attend fundraisers on Monday and Tuesday in California, and tape an episode of Ellen DeGeneres' talk show. Clinton is now holed up in her upstate New York home after a bystander recorded her losing her balance, slumping at the knees and being held up by her aides while waiting to get in a minivan.

And for me being there and seeing what they are going through, they are young boys, they want to start their career and someone in the ministry is trying to crush that dream," he said.

Sallah: Kano State Govt. Gives N2.5m Food Items To Prisoners

The Kano State Government on Sunday donated food items worth N2.5 million to enable prison inmates in the state celebrate Eid el-Kabir.

The items comprised three cows, 14 rams, 40 bags of rice, 16 jerry- cans of vegetable oil and other food items.

The Secretary to Kano State Government (SSG), Alhaji Usman Alhaji, told officials of Kano Central Prisons, Kurmawa, at the presentation ceremony, that the gesture was to assist the inmates celebrate Eid-el-Kabir with ease.

“It has been a tradition of Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje to assist the inmates during such special occasions,” he said.

A mum with HIV and her daughter who had been told to leave Britain may have been starved to death in desperate poverty, an inquest heard.

Lillian Oluk, 36, and her two-year-old daughter Lynne Mutumba were found dead in their one-bedroom flat.

A harrowing inquest was told there was no medical reason for their deaths but various examinations suggested Lillian was suffering from malnutrition and starvation and little Lynne had been dehydrated.

Borno LG Boss Commences Reconstruction Of 500 Destroyed Houses For IDPs

The caretaker Chairman of Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State, Alhaji Zanna Modu has said that the degrading of the activities of Boko Haram insurgents has been hastening the reconstruction of about 500 residential houses and public structures destroyed by insurgents in the communities.


He also commended the military and the state governor for degrading the activities of insurgents. Modu stated this yesterday at the foundation laying ceremony for the reconstruction of Gubio town.

‘With the liberation of communities in Gubio and its environs, the ongoing reconstruction of 500 residential houses and public structures destroyed by insurgents in the town became necessary to provide returning victims with a decent shelter to enable them to concentrate on their socio- economic activities’, he said.

Saudi-Bound Pilgrim Excretes 6 More Wraps Of Cocaine

One week after she excreted 76 pellets of drugs that tested positive to cocaine, Basisru Binuyo, a pilgrim, has excreted six more wraps of the pellets, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has said.

In a statement today, the agency said the woman would be “severely sanctioned” in line with the anti-narcotics laws of the land.

Hamisu Lawan, NDLEA commander at the Abuja airport, speaking om the incident said, “Mrs Binuyo Basari Iyabo while under observation expelled eighty-two wraps of cocaine weighing nine hundred and thirty-one (931) grammes,” Mr. Lawan said. “All arrangements have been concluded for her prosecution,” he added.

 The incident that would send Judith to the emergency ward, took place around 10pm on Sunday, August 28 at 106, Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, around Pako Bus Stop.

Judith’s aunty, a trader in the area, said the young woman had come to her stall around 9pm that day to collect some money.

“I told her to wait so we could pack up together later in the evening. She did. But around 9.30pm when I was still not ready, she said she would go home. She had been sick, so, I thought it was better. Some minutes after 10pm, I packed up and left,” the woman said.

Several Killed As Earthquake Hits Tanzania

Several people were killed when an earthquake measuring 5.7 hit northwest Tanzania on Saturday, the president's office says, with a local newspaper putting the death toll at 10.

The quake struck at 1227 GMT, 43 km (27 miles) from Bukoba, a city on the western shore of Lake Victoria, at a depth of 10 km.

President John Magufuli's office said in a statement that several people had died, but gave no toll.

"The president is shocked at the reports of the incident that has resulted in the loss of several people, and many others injured and property destroyed," the statement said.

Harrowing images of child victims of ‘napalm bombs’ have emerged after suspected government warplanes carried out several airstrikes in Syria's Hama province on Thursday.

A large number of children injured by incendiary bombs were taken to the Syrian-American Medical Society hospital in Hama, president of the aid group Dr. Zaher Sahloul said.

One of the shocking photographs shows a young boy sat upright on a hospital bed with horrific burns. His hair has been singed and his clothes have been cut away from his body.

Dr Sahloul said on Twitter: 'This is not a victim of American Napalm in Vietnam but a Syrian child victim of Assad's Napalm in Hama.'

Army Insists Boko Haram Leader, Abubakar Shekau Is Dead

Major General Lucky Irabor, Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Nigeria’s military operation set up to battle Boko Haram, on Thursday insisted that Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau is dead.

He insisted that the individual originally identified as Shekau has indeed been killed. He said this during a tour of Adamawa State as part of the formations under his command.

“I can confirm to you that the original Shekau was killed, the second Shekau was killed, and the man presenting himself as Shekau, I can also confirm to you that few days ago, he was wounded. We are yet to confirm whether he is dead or not”.
