South Africa's top TV presenter Simba Mhere dies in car crash

Popular South African TV presenter Simba Mhere (pictured above) died on Saturday January 31st in a deadly car crash in Johannesburg while on his way to the airport. The striking 31 year old presenter of Top Billing (he won the Top Billing Presenter search in 2010), originally from Zimbabwe and moved to Johannesburg when he was a year old, was killed when another car hit his in the early hours of Saturday morning. He was with a friend and his dad in the car. Only his father survived the crashed

Patricia Etteh Decamps From PDP To APC

Former Speaker of House of Representatives, Patricia Olubunmi Etteh has dumped the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) for the All progressive Congress (APC) in Osun state.

At a rally in Osun, Etteh told supporters that she decided to join APC because it is a party of progressives, noting that, its policies and agenda were people-oriented and people-focused.

The pictures were posted by one of twins Zahra and Salma Halane, both 17, of Chorlton, Manchester, and shows four veiled women in ISIS-controlled Syria, holding assault rifles and handguns. The set was captioned: 'Fun day training for self defence in the Islamic State... Alhamdulilah [thanks be to God] with humble sisters'. The Halane twins, whose parents hail from Somalia, left Britain last June after becoming radicalised online, and are thought to have married two ISIS militants in Syria, who have both died in battle.

Nigerian Joseph Iwueke was due to marry Slovakian Ingrida Stojkova in Leeds last July so he could stay in Britain. But they were arrested moments before their fake wedding was due to start after officials at a pre-marriage meeting noticed the groom reading details about his supposed bride from the back of his hand. Iwueke (right), Stojkova (left) and two wedding 'fixers' have now been jailed for conspiracy to facilitate a breach of UK immigration law.

If elected, I will ban importation of rice and tomatoes' - Buhari

The presidential candidate of the APC, Gen Muhammadu Buhari says he will  ban the importation of commodities such as rice and tomatoes that can be produced in Nigeria if elected. Buhari said this while speaking to members of the organized private sector in Lagos yesterday February 2nd
"How can Nigeria be importing virtually everything? How can we be importing even tomatoes? If I am elected, basic items like rice and tomatoes, which we have the capacity to produce, will be banned from being imported" he said

27 year old Missouri woman named Evelyn was recently featured on TLC's "My Strange Addiction", where she revealed that she's addicted to drinking air-freshner. According to Evelyn, she drinks 20 cans of air freshner a week and sprays up to 50 times daily.
"I love air freshener. In the last three years, there is not a day where I’ve not had it. Fresh linen is my favorite flavor. Apple crisp is like dirt.”

Buhari Is Running Away From Debates And Must Be Rejected Come Feb. 14- PDP

General Muhammadu Buhari has said he will not participate in the debate organised by the Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria, NPAN, and Channels Television, after admitting at first that he will. The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, through its spokesperson, Femi Fani-Kayode, has condemned him and his party, saying they are merely taking Nigerians for granted and they should be rejected at the polls come February 14.

Freedom Of Information: Civil Group Asks Finance Minister To Account For Alleged Missing N30tn, Or Face Court Action

                                                                                        

A civil society group, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), on Monday sent a Freedom of Information (FOI) law request to the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, urging her to “urgently provide information about spending of the alleged missing N30tn, which represents some accruable income to the Federal Government in the past four years.”
SERAP’s request followed the disclosure by the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo that over N30tn was missing, stolen, or simply mismanaged under Okonjo-Iweala’s watch.

R. Kelly beat up and urinated on for refusing to perform, and there might be a video

According to reports, R. Kelly was 'allegedly' kidnapped, beaten up and urinated on by a group of goons at Gulf Port MS over the weekend for collecting about $50k to sing at a club in Gulfport and then refusing to perform. The event organisers tried to persuade him but when he refused, thugs attacked both R.Kelly and his security and even stole his chain. Now they are claiming the whole thing was filmed and have threatened to release the video footage if R.Kelly doesn't return the money.

Missing $20bn: GEJ receives Forensic Audit Report on Finances of the NNPC (photos)

President Jonathan today received the forensic audit report on the finances of the NNPC which was launched after former CBN governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi raised alarm over $20 billion missing from the NNPC coffers.
