Bomb blast reported close to GEJ's campaign venue in Gombe

A bomb blast occurred this afternoon at Abubakar Habu Hashidu Road, about 200 meters from the  Pantami stadium, venue of President Jonathan's campaign in Gombe state today.

According to reports, the bomb which was planted in a stationed tricycle, went off just minutes after president Jonathan and his team left the venue of the campaign. Five people have already been confirmed dead. More later...(president Jonathan pictured above at the campaign rally today)

Fire Engulfs River State High Court, Documents Burnt Beyond Recognition

The Rivers State High Court at Degema, Degema Local Government Area earlier today was engulfed by fire in the early hours of the morning.

The cause of the inferno is yet to be ascertained but eyewitnesses said it started around 4am. Almost all parts of the building including many documents were destroyed in the fire, which started barely 48 hours after the directive from the JUSUN to judiciary workers to resume duties.

But Punch is reporting that it was a bomb blast, and not a fire incident. We will bring you more details later.

Bobby Brown Releases Heartbreaking Statement About Daughter

Bobby Brown is finally speaking out about Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition following her hospitalization on Jan. 31.

Bobby Brown, 45, who rushed to be with his 21-year old daughter at her hospital bed soon as he learnt of what befell her, has released a statement asking everyone for love and support.

"Privacy is requested in this matter. Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time," he said in a statement.

Meanwhile most reports are saying Bobbi is on life support while some say she is already brain dead.

Billionaire businessman Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas dies at 79

Billionaire businessman, the Asoju Oba of Lagos, Babasuwa of Ijebu-Remo, Odofin of Ife, the current Chancellor of Lagos State University and chairman of CFAO Nigeria Limited, Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas has died. He died today February 2nd. He was 79. Details as to what caused his death hasn't been made public yet. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

INEC, Police Must Be Ready For Elections- Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday while speaking at a public enlightenment programme on the electoral process, organised by the Organisation of Tadhamunul Muslimeen and the Ogun State chapter of The Muslim Congress, held at the Olusegun Obasanjo presidential library,  warned that Nigeria could not afford to bungle the 2015 general elections because the international community was watching the country.
“The elections are crucial and the international community is watching us. We should not disappoint them, by ensuring that the elections are free and fair.

“This election is for progress and development of this great country and should be devoid of sentiments, like religion, ethnic and nepotism.

AD VP Involved In Auto Crash On His Way To Presidential Debate

The vice presidential candidate of Aliance for Democracy, AD, Akuchie Clinton Cliff was yesterday involved in an auto crash on his way to the airport to attend the vice presidential debate in Abuja. Akuchie who narrowly escaped death in the crash had to cancel his flight immediately, to seek medical attention.

In another circumstance, another vice presidential candidate, Hassanatu Hassan of the Citizens Popular Party, CPP, who was billed to attend the same debate in Abuja was reportedly operated upon in an undisclosed hospital, also yesterday.

A Plane Carrying A Group Of Politicians Will Crash If Prayers Are Not Made Now- Chris Okafor

The senior pastor of Liberation City, Dr Chris Okafor yesterday at his Sunday service warned that a group of politicians will perish in a plane crash going for a political campaign if prayers are not made now to avert it. He also said there will be a heavy cloud that will rain blood before the election.

He also warned that a popular governorship candidate might not be alive to witness the governorship election he is supposed to take part in. He also foresees Boko Haram coming out in a new dimension.
