80 Nigerian deportees arrive Nigeria from Saudi Arabia.

                                                The first batch of 80 Nigerians to be repatriated from Saudi Arabia arrived at the Nnamid Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, today. deportees reportedly arrived in the country on board an Ethiopian Airline plane at about noon.

Mr Daniel Obot, the Assistant Director, Relief and Rehabilitation, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), told newsmen at the Airport that the deportees were part of the 508 Nigerians residing illegally in Saudi Arabia. He said the Federal Government approved their repatriation after they voluntarily agreed to return home, adding that they would be handed over to officials of their State Emergency Management Agency after due clearance.

President Jonsthan's Food-Poisoning Suit In Gambian Court .

                                                 A Gambian Magistrates’ Court at Kanifing Municipal Council has begun the hearing of a food poisoning trial involving President Goodluck Jonathan, his delegation and Gambia’s five-star hotel,Coco Ocean, an online media, Shanghai Daily.com reports.

Jonathan was said to have been served with food that had been preserved for a long period, causing him food poisoning during his two-day state visit in Gambia in November 2013.

According to the online medium, the Gambian police had charged the chef of Coco Ocean Hotel, Ayoub Aliris, with negligence and food poisoning on Jonathan and his delegation.

But Aliris denied the charge when he appeared before the Principal Magistrate, Sheriff Tabally.

Miracle of the little girl with the gigantic head: Roona, two, has successful surgery to reduce huge swelling.

                                                    Lying on her hospital bed, Roona Begum almost looks likes any other two-year-old.

But her appearance today is a drastic transformation to how the toddler looked just a few months ago after her head swelled to twice its size.

These dramatic series of images chart her journey which has seen her undergo numerous operations on her skull.  Doctors carried out her latest reconstructive surgery on Friday and the results are clear to see in these pictures taken of Roona at a hospital in New Delhi, India, on Christmas Day. Python Caused Traffic jam At Galadima-zuba Express Axis, Abuja.

                                                   Well, see for yourself..hmmm...Just got this from a friend in Abuja.

The already decapitated python was on display by some dare devil hunters, what they didn't know is that, while rabbits and grass cutters are regular sights and wouldn't cause more than a stare or two, this python is proving to be a crowd puller.... As motorist and commuters parked to catch a glimpse of the specie. It got so serious that the road safety had to be called in....anyways, enough stories, enjoy the view.....

Bloody Christmas Eve in Cross River.

                                                     The joyous moment of the Christmas season turned bloody yesterday, as a truck with registration No. FKJ505XC lost control, killing four persons and leaving scores injured along Awi community on the Calabar- Ikom highway.
The tragic incident occurred at about 6:00am when the truck going to Akamkpa to carry granite lost control and rammed into some youths from Mbarakom, a community in Akakmpa Local Government area of Cross River State. The youthshad embarked on a road walk as part of activities to mark the festive period.
Angered by the incident, youths in the area went on the rampage, unleashing mayhem on motorists plying the road.

Kwankwaso declares free education in Kano.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 In a bid to address educational backwardness of the state, Kano state Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has declared free and compulsory education at level in the state.

Kwankwaso who made the declaration during the presentation of 2014 appropriation bill to the House of Assembly revealed that the gesture would commenced from 2014 academic year.

Kwankwaso stated that “in our collective resolve to drive a knowledge base economy, government has already concluded arrangement to adopt a free education for all indigene at all levels: primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in the state.”
