Eye witnesses described the aftermath as 'utter carnage' and a 'sea of metal.' Three people died on the M1 near Flitwick, Bedfordshire, after a collision between a coach and a car. Both fatal accidents happened on the northbound carriageway of the motorways and caused lengthy tailbacks.
